Sunset Wonders is a contemporary private residential garden design project in Otford, Kent, carefully composed to balance architectural structure with the softness of layered planting. Broad terraced steps in natural stone connect the house to a generous courtyard, forming a considered transition between architecture and the Kent landscape.

The swimming pool sits at the heart of the garden, framed by pale limestone paving and softened by ornamental grasses, perennials and multi-stemmed trees. Albizia julibrissin ‘Ombrella’ trees create a sculptural canopy, casting delicate, dappled light across the terrace and enhancing the garden’s sense of softness and movement. Traditional clay pavers introduce warmth and texture along key pathways, reinforcing the dialogue between contemporary design and the surrounding Kent countryside.

As evening falls across the landscape, warm light settles over the garden, deepening its atmosphere and sense of connection to the distant horizon and the unfolding sunset beyond.
