RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021 - Container Garden
Stolen Soul Garden
Presented within the inaugural Container Gardens category at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021, this garden design explored the role of compact, adaptable spaces in supporting wellbeing in a post-pandemic world.
Naturalistic planting softened bold geometric forms, creating a measured dialogue between structure and organic movement. Eco-conscious oak planters, designed by Anna and inspired by the scalloped forms of sea shells, were crafted from recycled timber and housed delicate planting compositions within a confined footprint.
A still black water pool formed a quiet focal point, reflecting foliage, structure and shifting light. The restrained material palette and considered composition demonstrated how even modest-scale gardens can create depth, atmosphere and immersive experience.
Sustainable, natural materials reinforced the garden’s commitment to responsible design, balancing contemporary clarity with ecological sensitivity. The project reflected a broader shift toward flexible, urban-responsive garden design, redefining how planting-led spaces can function within limited footprints through through considered and imaginative design.
